Armband for Mini Ipod Posted: Wed Dec 22, 2004 9:13 am

I just got a mini Ipod and I am trying to figure out where to attach it when I go for runs. The beltclip works but the device bounces too much for my liking. There's an armband available but I've never used one before so I'm not sure it will be comfortable. Before I pay $30 I was wondering what your experiences are with armbands. Thanks for your help.

I've been running periodically with an iPod mini on the armband and I love it. It's neoprene, so there's no rubbing, and incredibly easy to access if you want to change volume or skip a song.

Definitely worth the cost!

I sometimes wear a MP3 player on an armband while running, and it doesn't bother me at all. I can't remember the brand at the moment, but it's probably about the same size and weight as the mini ipod. If anyting, I find the headphones more annoying than the player itself.

Thanks for the info. I guess it's time to bite the bullet.

I find the headphone annoying just walking around so I'm not too excited about them when I start running with the Ipod. I guess I should keep an open mind. Thanks for the help.

You might want to think about trying a different type of headphone. I had o experiment with several styles before I finally found the one I wanted. It helped that I, and other family members, had different devices with different styles of headphones to try. I actually ended up using the Sony headphones that came with my Sony Walkman (my first portable music device). They're the more traditional style (over the head) and come down in front of my ears (rather than over the top or wrap around the bottom from behind). It's light, stays in place, doesn't pinch, and I can wear a hat over it without it feeling uncomfortable. I think the fact that they don't come in contact with any part of the external ear (i.e. lobule and helix; I had to look that up) makes them more comfortable.

Thanks for the advise. I think I have a few old headphones laying around so I can experiment.
