I ran this race in 2004, and recommend it as an excellent mid-sized marathon (~1000 runners?) that's well organized and an excellent value for your money (like $35, with free Molson beer and food at the end). The largely flat course winds through many attractive Buffalo neighborhoods, with only a scattering of ugly neighborhoods. There's a half-marathon run at the same time, but rather than starting together as most marathons/halfs do, the half starts at the mid-point of the marathon approximately 1 hour after the marathon starts. The two races then follow the same course. This can be fun, because it lets you pick off some of the slower half-marathon runners when you're up in the 20+ miles and there's not a lot to feel positive about! Crowd support is pretty moderate, but if that's not important to you then this is a great race.
