I'm color uncoordinated! Posted: Tue Dec 21, 2004 1:30 pm |

As I was heading out the door for my run today, I had to stop and laugh at myself. Wearing my mismatched medium blue training shoes, pale blue shirt, and royal blue shorts, I did NOT look fashionable! Not that I run for looks, but the effect was pretty comical. Compared to the people in those trendy color-coordinated Nike outfits I see in cataglogs, I looked like Forrest Gump.

Nahhh, it was all blue, that's coordinated enough. I usually look like I've just climbed out of a cardboard box after sleeping there all night when I'm out running, at least in the winter. Ratty old sweat-soaked winter hat circa 1986, salt spray and mud encrusted gortex pants, snot encrusted gloves, ice probably clinging all over my beard, scary crazed zoned out look in my eyes, like perhaps I don't even remember running the last two miles because I was thinking about something else. A pretty scary sight for the non-runners!

I came back from a trail/road run like that one day. All ice and mud. Scared the crap out of my daughters boyfriend. Totally worth it.

Remind me why it was that we wondered non-runners don't say hello?
