 Last-Minute Gift Ideas For Runners
Submitted by Rickshaw :: Mon Dec 20, 2004 3:52 pm
Are you still a few items short for that special runner on your holiday gift list? Scratching your head trying to think of something they'll appreciate? BoulderRunning.com comes to the rescue with a list of gift ideas for runners, all under $25. Check out their clothing suggestions that utilize a variety of high-tech fabrics. Coolest item: a pair of gloves that converts into mittens when the arctic winds blow.

Other good gift ideas are basic supplies like running socks and shoes, of which no runner can ever have too many. Also consider giving a race entry fee as a gift. You'll not only save your runner some cash, but you'll also motivate him or her with a new race goal.

While you're shopping, don't forget to buy some running goodies for yourself too. Just wrap them up and say they're from Santa. After all, you've been good this year, haven't you?

Anyone read "The purple runner" or have a review? I've never heard of it.

Here's a review from Amazon.com. Five stars from the one guy who reviewed it.

I really like the gloves! I'm in dire need. The Black Diamond headlamp ($47) looks awesome, but a bit too steep. Oh well!

I couldn't decide if I thought convertible gloves-to-mittens were clever, or just silly. I guess you answered that!

If you're looking for a headlamp, Petzl makes a number of different ones. I think the cheaper models are in the $25 range.
