worst running routes
Posted: Sun Dec 19, 2004 12:32 pm
We've probably all got running routes that we dislike, but do anyway for some odd reason. Mine is undoubtedly my route on track days. I have to run 2 miles up and down some killer hills on a narrow road with no sidewalk, doding cars the whole way. Then when I get to the track, I have to dodge all the people who are going the wrong way around! What's your worst route?

I'm just tired of the same usual route! Mine is a flat easy road along my home town, and I often see the same things, the same people, etc.. Boring! It might be time to hunt out some local trails or paths.. :(

My worst route was a 10-miler at my brother-in-law's down by White Plains, NY where I got lost and it turned into a hilly 17-miler. Several of the miles ended up being on a 55mph road with blind curves and virtually no shoulder due to overgrown vegetation on the roadside. Scary!
