Finish Line TV Comercial Posted: Fri Feb 04, 2005 7:12 am

Has anyone seen the TV add that Finish Line has out featuring Dathan Ritzenhein and Meb Kflezighi sprinting it out to the finish line (meb wins) at a race taking place at the Indy 500 or some other speedway to a packed house? Glad to finally see some american distance runners getting endorsments, but I've only seen the comercial once, late at night.

I haven't seen that one, but I don't watch much TV. This weekend's Millrose games coverage should be a good opportunity to see the few running-related TV commercials that exist.

There's one print ad I've seen a few times that always makes me laugh. A runner is sprinting down the sidewalk, arms raised and chest out in a victory pose as he breaks the tape. Except the "tape" is actually a yellow caution ribbon stretched around a section of wet cement, and he's not in a race. :-)

Do you know off hand what time/channel that is on?

TiVo automatically records anything running-related for me, so I actually have no idea what time or channel it's on. It must be on one of the major networks, though, since I don't have cable TV.

I saw the ad - actually during the Millrose Games coverage, which I stumbled upon while channel surfing and hadn't known about beforehand. Pretty funny, and nice to see some money spent on advertising targeted at people like us.
