Anybody use the stuff? I'm not sure I get what exactly it is.

Lately, I tend to get by on gatorade endurance and powerbar recovery. Does Endurox have something I'm missing?

I haven't tried it personally, but it's supposed to be better than "normal" energy drinks because it contains protein, where Gatorade etc. are basically just carbs (sugar). I don't see why it would be any better than Gatorade + a Powerbar, though.

I use it after most of my runs...especially during peak training season. I like to mix it in a smoothy (I.e. ice, frozen strawberries, and water or milk). I don't think it tastes so great mixed just with water. A smoothy is fluffy and while it satisfies my thirst it also fills my stomach so I feel full also....so it helps me recover and lose weight when necessary. I've gone for periods of training without using any special sort of recovery drink/food and I definitely think my body feels bettter the day after a hard run if I've had one of my smoothies after the previous days workout (within a hour of a run is most optimal).

For those of you that find Gatorade and/or Power Bars repulsive in taste, one of the best recovery drinks is chocolate skim milk - compliments of Running Research News not just my taste buds.

i started using the powerbar recovery drink because of the protein it has in it and i liked the taste better than endurox. when i tried it, it was warm mixed with water from a running buddy's freshly shaken bottle. a fellow runner from my office said she blends a banana in with hers and loves it. i like the sounds of that after a long run...

Always use a complex carb formula. Gatorade Endurance seems to do the trick according to what I have read. Personally I like Hammer Nutrition or GU20 drink.Complex carbs with a little fructose seems to work good for me also.
