I'm kind of lazy about applying sunscreen when I go running, since it's often cloudy outside anyway. I'm certainly tan enough that burning isn't a problem. I do worry about the long-term effects of being outdoors in the sun for an hour or so every day for years. Does anyone else worry about UV protection? Do you wear sunscreen regularly, or a hat, or long sleeves? I'm not sure if I'm overly paranoid.

I'm one of those "lucky bastards" that would have to be on a planet much closer to the sun to get burnt so I never use sunscreen, even though I probably should. But you figure even if you run a marathon you're only in the sun for a couple peak hours and a good portion of you is protected. It's not like going to the beach for an entire day after being couped up inside all winter....

Irish runner here. SPF 50 when out in the sun for more than a half an hour. Otherwise, it's Lobster-boy city.

Many in my family have had various near-cancer & cancer like things cut off the facial and neck area. My first scrapping is scheduled for next week, so YES I do worry about it and usually put the cream on.
